Mara Compton

Mara’s love for photography began at the age of 10 when she was given a disposable Kodak for a roadtrip. That Kodak led to a slew of Canon Powershots, a Sony Alpha, and then to the Canon T3i that took her through the Photography program at Madison College. Ironically, Mara vowed during orientation, in front of all classmates and professors, that she would never shoot weddings. Yet here she is 12 years later, loving the wedding business more than she ever dreamed. God’s sense of humor really is something, isn’t it?

Mara is the portrait specialist of the duo and has always preferred photographing people to objects or landscapes.

Colin Compton

Colin became interested in photography back in high school, when all his coolest friends started posting artistic photos on Instagram. From there, he dove into photographing Southern Wisconsin landscapes and cityscapes. Naturally, his first real-world job out of school was working for a local camera store, which then led to a venture into freelance videography. With experience in both the photo and video world, he finds the editing side of things equally enjoyable as the shooting process, working meticulously to bring natural, rich colors to life in each image and frame. These days, his favorite subjects are the three adorable daughters that he and Mara are constantly corraling.
